Closed to new learners
OP700107 Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Management) is closed to new learners from October, 2022.
In 2020, like all Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics in New Zealand, we became a subsidiary of Te Pūkenga – New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology, as part of the government’s Reform of Vocational Education.
Over the last eighteen months our staff have been working collaboratively with Te Pūkenga and staff from the other polytechnics who offer accounting courses, to prepare to move to a unified Bachelor of Accounting programme.
As a result of this work, all institutions in the network of Te Pūkenga subsidiaries, will be progressively closing current accounting courses as we prepare to offer new courses being developed for the unified programme.

Current learners
If you are already enrolled in OP700107 Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Management) prior to, and including, June 2022, you can continue to enrol in your next course as normal to complete your qualification.
We will be progressively closing accounting courses as we move to a single Te Pūkenga degree in 2023. We encourage all learners in this programme to prioritise the completion of accounting courses ahead of management courses in this programme. The document linked to below shows the last available courses we will be offering accounting courses over the next five years:

Update for new learners
The Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Management) is closed to new learners for enrolment in 2023. This is because a new Bachelor of Accounting will be available in 2023 which will result in the current accounting courses being progressively closed as the accounting major is phased out. The new Bachelor of Accounting is a unified programme which will be offered online and in person at Te Pūkenga campuses.
There is currently no replacement for the Accounting and Management double major.
You can find out more about the new Bachelor of Accounting here.

Update for re-enrolling learners
If you are a current learner in OP700107 Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Management) you can continue to enrol in courses as normal to complete your degree. We will be in touch with you shortly to advise you of the last time each of the accounting courses will be offered.
