The purpose of this online dispensing medicines course is to prepare you to be able to dispense medicines and reconstitute antibiotics under supervision
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to
- Describe processes for dispensing in the pharmacy and identify their role as a pharmacy technician in each process.
- Identify situations where an intervention is required prior to a prescription being dispensed.
- Prepare and accurately dispense a full range of prescriptions and pharmaceutical orders under supervision of a pharmacist, and within legislation and standards appropriate to dispensing.
- Reconstitute antibiotic medicines under supervision of a pharmacist.
- Apply knowledge of checking systems and respond to near misses and errors.
