This online course aims to advance your skills in research and writing or expand your professional workplace experience, providing you with specialist, in-depth knowledge of a subject in which you have a particular interest.
This online course enables you to delve more deeply into your relevant area of study.
You will plan, undertake and write up a small qualitative or quantitative research project. The topics chosen will be directly relevant to your current employment or planned sector of employment.
Before enrolling in this course you need to:
- Determine what you would like to research.
- Contact the course leader for their approval of your research topic.
Your project needs to be approved by the course leader before you enrol. You should contact the course leader 4 to 6 weeks before the start of trimester.
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Identify key issues within an area of library and information service relevant to their workplace or career, and formulate a research or workplace project capable of addressing those issues.
- Develop, evaluate and report on outcomes of a library and information services project.
- Evaluate the learning process and prepare a personal reflection including the value of the project in the context of the wider profession.
