This online Library and Information Services course will enable you to develop professional practice skills in a relevant area under professional supervision.

You will follow an individual plan of development within a framework of options that will include, but not be limited to, workplace placements.

The professional practice topics chosen will be directly relevant to your workplace or planned sector of employment. You will engage with professional practice in workplace settings beyond your current role, interacting with library and information service professionals, to extend your understanding and skill-base. You will demonstrate that you can apply communication skills, professional values and ethics, and practice skills to your work.

During the course, you will use reflection techniques and practice supervision to articulate and critically reflect on your application of practice skills.

Your professional practice project needs to be approved by the course leader before you enrol. You should read the course handbook and contact the course leader at least 8 weeks before the start of trimester.
