This online course equips students with advanced quantitative and qualitative analysis skills for application in psychology, which is a broad discipline, incorporating scientific and social science methodologies.
This online course builds on the statistical skills developed in 72160, and the broader philosophical underpinnings and evaluation of quantitative and qualitative approaches and methods in 73213. You will be able to apply advanced statistical techniques, evaluate different types of experimental designs and their application, as well as apply interpretivist analysis to real-world data.
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to
- Use quantitative software to apply statistical analysis to data.
- Interpret and evaluate a range of statistical test results.
- Use textual data to carry out qualitative analysis and interpretation.
- Interpret and evaluate qualitative approaches.
- Identify a range of research methods and analysis techniques to best address psychological research. problems.
- Design and critically analyse psychological research.
