This online course will introduce you to the study of knowing. This includes how we acquire information from our environment, store it in memory, and use it to communicate, solve problems, and make decisions. 

The study of cognition will also give you links to topics in our other psychology courses, particularly:

  • cognitive views of learning
  • cognitive aspects of social psychology
  • clinical applications that emphasise faulty thinking processes.

The learning focuses on experiments in cognition, encouraging you to think about how cognitive models and theories can be tested and improved.
