This online course will introduce you to social informatics through critical reflection on uses of information and communication technologies and their social and cultural impact.
To study this course, you need to have 40 credits at Level 6, or comparable industry experience. The course leader will determine this.
Students who successfully complete this online course will be able to
- critically reflect on their own uses of information and communication technologies with reference to the significance of cultural and social contexts and technical innovations over time;
- analyse and critique the social and cultural impact of the use of information and communication technology on contemporary events
- evaluate the impact of information and communication technologies on community, workplace and personal life, locally and globally
