This online course will help novice writers to produce clear and effective web copy for a specified purpose and audience. You will gain the skills needed to write and edit text for websites, blogs and social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter).

When you complete this course you will be able to:

  • understand the attributes of the World Wide Web as a communication medium and the implications of these for a writer of web content
  • evaluate the quality of web writing samples and recognise how to revise and edit them
  • identify and apply principles and techniques of effective web writing
  • write text appropriate for publication on websites, blogs and social media platforms.
