This online course will give you an introduction to information literacy and the skills needed to fully participate in problem-based and applied learning.
This course will take you through each facet of information literacy, allowing you time to practise and demonstrate understanding of these core skills. You will need an understanding of and familiarity with the enabling technology.
Topics covered include
- preparing a research question
- finding and accessing information through the Open Polytechnic library
- using the retrieved information
- evaluating the retrieved information; and
- ethical and legal issues surrounding the use of information.
Assessment
This course is 100% internally assessed.
