This online course looks at strategic human resource management planning and the planning process, performance management, policies and practice, analysis of the internal and external environment of an organisation, and globalisation and future developments.

Students who successfully complete this course will be able to

  • Establish the human resource implications of the strategic management plans of an organisation.
  • Review and develop human resource policies and plans to fit the organisation’s strategic plan.
  • Co-ordinate implementation of the plan.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the human resource plan.
  • Outline some of the international challenges facing strategic human resource management in New Zealand and overseas.
