Remember to celebrate your successes big and small

Success can be a lot of things.

When it comes to study, it could be taking that first step of enrolling in a course; logging in and finding your way around or getting started with your course work. It could be something bigger, like submitting your first assignment, finishing the course or graduating with the qualification you were aiming for.

Success can also be the more personal things that help you through your studies. When someone cooks dinner to give you extra time to study, or when your kids see how hard you are working and ask if they can help.

Remember to celebrate your successes big and small. Studying takes time, hard work and commitment to keep going while you juggle all your other commitments responsibilities. That's why it’s important to reward yourself and celebrate your successes to help you stay motivated and remind you every little bit counts towards your goal.

It doesn’t have to be much. Met your study goals for the week – Have a coffee with a friend. Hand in that assignment - Treat yourself to your favourite meal.

Here are some tips from some of our Pasifika kaimahi (staff) on how they celebrate success of all sizes.

Meet Kilisi

“Start with what you’re capable of then see how that works for you. You can build on it one step at a time. It depends on your circumstances but I truly believe if you start small and dream big it will happen.”
