Knowledge of Digital Asset Management (DAM) is a key requirement for anyone working in the information management field.

This online course provides an in-depth introduction to digital assets used in the workplace (e.g. digitized and born-digital objects and web generated concepts) and how they are managed through digital recordkeeping processes. It covers the tools, technologies and systems that are used across the record continuum (i.e., creation, use, disposal and preservation) for evidential, discovery and compliance purposes. It also addresses the linkage between digital recordkeeping systems and other information management systems to ensure ongoing information sustainability.

For more information watch the course introduction video below.

Students who successfully complete this online course will be able to:

  • Explain characteristics of digital asset management and identify the main tools and digital environments that are used
  • Analyse the various impacts that standards, context and culture have on digital asset management processes in organisations
