This course will give you a practical knowledge of New Zealand’s native plants. It discusses the ecology and unique characteristics of native plants.

 This course is designed to enable you to play an active role in restoring and protecting areas of native vegetation. It is particularly useful if you work or intend to work in natural resource and conservation management.

Topics covered include:

  • special characteristics of native plants
  • conservation and protection of native plants, planting and revegetation
  • non-cropping use and management of native plants in urban and rural landscapes
  • economic uses, and
  • other aspects of native plants.
