Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:

  • Interpret an interior décor brief to use for interior décor concept design through effective communication with clients and colleagues
  • Create alternative concept designs in collaboration with stakeholders that fulfil a brief
  • Develop an interior décor design to industry standards
  • Develop schedules and specifications for an interior décor design
  • Present an interior décor design to a stakeholder

  • Interpreting and responding to a brief
  • Synthesising knowledge gained to create different concept designs
  • Developing a concept design to professional presentation standard
  • Producing schedules and specifications
  • Receiving a client’s brief, and communicating with them and stakeholders, for its fulfilment
  • Verbally and visually presenting interior designs to stakeholders
  • Using a computer drafting platform for presentation(s)

Computer and Internet requirements

To complete this programme, you will need access to a laptop or desktop computer. The Interior Décor courses cannot be completed by Chromebook, tablet, or phone. While you can read the content and watch videos, there are technical and software requirements throughout each course that you will need a laptop or desktop PC to do.

You will also need access to a reliable broadband internet connection and a data plan able to support online learning such as streaming videos (including YouTube), downloading content, and writing and submitting online assessments.
